The Life of Mrs. Jean M. Martin

Jean M. Martin, 89, entered into rest Tuesday November 26, 2019 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Herbert G. Martin. Mrs. Martin was born July 19, 1930 in York, a daughter of the late Frederick Bernard and Anna Louise (French) Shue. She was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ. She was a 1948 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and, after raising her two children, was employed in Admissions and Registration at York Hospital, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed traveling, especially to California to see her daughter and son-in-law, as well as reading, crossword puzzles, and hosting her many nieces and nephews and their children.
Jean is survived by her son John S. Martin and his wife Mary "Dolly"; a grandson Bronley J. Martin; a son-in-law Gary Heinz; brothers and sisters Patricia Shue, Carol Yohe, Helen Baetz and Allan "Fred" Shue; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne P. Heinz.
Private service & burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. 2114 West Market St., York, is assisting with the arrangements.
