The Life of Mae M. Phillips

Mae M. (nee Falkenstein) Phillips, 93, of New Holland, PA, died November 1, 2019 at Garden Spot Village.

Born and raised in Shenandoah, PA. she had been a longtime resident of New Holland.

Mrs. Phillips served as a Nurse in the U. S. Navy with the rank of Lt. J.G. during the Korean Conflict. Mae received her BSN from Millersville University and at the age of 80 earned a BS in Social Work from Alvernia College. Following her Naval service, she worked in the Medical field before joining the faculty at the Coatesville School of Nursing and spent most of her years in education. Mae was a member of the Zeltenreich United Church of Christ and an active volunteer with hospice and CONTACT. She enjoyed shopping, singing hymns and loved to chat over a cup of black coffee. She will be remembered as a caring, loving woman who could be strong willed with her focus always on family.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Jack Phillips, her parents Rudolph and Hazel Falkenstein, and siblings, Grace Campbell and Rudolph Falkenstein.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Weinhold; grandchildren Jessica Weinhold (Andrew Herr),  Ketrina (Erik) Walter, Jamison Weinhold; great=grandchildren, Larissa and Benjamin Walter and Laci Weinhold.

Graveside Service was held November 6, 2019 at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA.
