The Life of WAYNE D LUBAS

Wayne D. Lubas, 59, of Spring Twp., passed away unexpectedly at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center on Saturday, June 3, 2023.

He was the loving husband of Kathy A. (Wiegand) Lubas. They were married on October 27, 1990 and shared over 32 years of a beautiful marriage.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Frederick Lubas, Reading, and the late Dorothy (Kindlik) Lubas and the stepson of the late Annette (Tomlinson) Lubas.

Wayne graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1981 with honors, and went on to graduate from Millersville University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1984.

He worked as an agent at Prudential for 27 years until his retirement in 2017. He also worked as a vendor for the Reading Phillies for 41 years and was well known by friends and family as the "Beer Man." His vending didn't end at Reading, he traveled throughout the east coast vending various sporting events and concerts, including the World Series and the Super Bowl.

Wayne enjoyed sports of all kinds. He was a standout football player and wrestler while at Central Catholic and continued his passion by refereeing PIAA football for 30 years, and supporting sports teams large and small; from the Dallas Cowboys to the West Lawn Owls. But most importantly, he enjoyed watching his children play the sports they loved. Above all else, he will be remembered as a wonderful and loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his children, Chelsea N. Klingle, married to Randy Klingle, Pottstown and Austin D. Lubas, fiancé of Olivia Kreider, West Reading; his granddaughter Reagan C. Klingle; his brother, Larry M. Lubas and life partner Angelina Longo, Reading; and his half-sister, Dawn Hossler.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, from 3 to 7 pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter's UCC Memorial Fund, 2901 Curtis Road, Reading, PA 19609. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
