The Life of Terry Vance Bills Jr.

A private Memorial Service with family will be held for Terry Vance Bills, Jr., 89, who died on Monday, April 15, 2019 in Lafayette.

Inurnment will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his three sons, Gordon V. Bills, Jonathan G. Bills and Daniel R. Bills; two daughters, Marjorie Bills Cupit and her husband, Wayne and Linzee Evans LaGrange and her husband, Kenny; one great grandchild, Ayden Fontenot; Dave Henard, nephew, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Guidry Bills; and his parents, Terry Vance Bills, Sr. and Mildred Phelps Bills; and his five sisters.
Terry Bills, Jr served as a Sergeant in the Korean War in the South and Central Theatre from 1947 to 1952. He was honorably discharged in 1956. While serving in the Marine Reserves, he attended the University of Texas earning his Master's Degree in Geology. He moved to Lafayette in 1960 beginning his career in Oil and Gas with Unocal. In 1962, he launched his own oilfield company called SEVARG. In later years, he recruited his nephew Dave and his daughter Linzee to work side by side for many years. He enjoyed telling very lengthy war stories, siting incredible historical facts, recapping trips across the world and life experiences. He will be missed dearly especially by his three "boys", Gordon, Jon and Danny.
