The Life of Giuseppa Licari
Giuseppa Lo Duca Licari, 70, of Kutztown and formerly of Brooklyn, NY and Cinisi, Palermo, Italy, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Giuseppe Licari, and a daughter of the late Salvatore and Vincenza (Vitale) Lo Duca. Giuseppa was known as "Pina" by loved ones.
She attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown, where she volunteered with various events. Giuseppa was a homemaker who had a passion for cooking and taking care of her family. She would welcome anyone into her home and they would never leave hungry! She was a great wife, mother and grandmother who had a good heart and could make friends with anybody she met. She also was a talented seamstress. While living in Kutztown, Giuseppa would help cook at the family restaurant, Mamma's Delight, and passed on her love of food and cooking to her family.
In addition to her husband, Giuseppa is survived by her three children, Maria C. (Licari), wife of Vincenzo DiMaggio, Kutztown, Salvatore, husband of Graziella (Vitale) Licari, Blandon, and Vincenza (Licari) Fiorello, Hershey; seven grandchildren, Rosalie (DiMaggio), wife of Michael Sidari, Alexandra DiMaggio, Emily DiMaggio, Irene Licari, Giuseppe Licari, Pietro Fiorello and Valeria Fiorello; sister, Vincenza Evola and brother, Matteo Lo Duca, both of Sicily. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Santa Briguglio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, PA, with Rev. Monsignor Walter T. Scheaffer, Celebrant. Entombment will follow in Hope Cemetery Mausoleum, 234 Church Rd, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday morning from 8:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the Church.
The family requests contributions be made in Giuseppa's memory to the Giuseppa Licari Memorial Fund c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292, for her family to donate to various organizations in the future.
