The Life of Jeffrey C Gray

Jeffrey C. Gray, 59, of Pottsville, formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully Saturday, surrounded by his family after a long battle with kidney disease and mental illness, at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a resident.

Born in Bethlehem, July 27, 1958, he was a son of Joan O. Schruff Gray, Orwigsburg, and Robert W. Gray Jr., of Pottsville.

Jeff was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Class of 1976.

He loved his family, animals and playing chess.

Jeff was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Gray III, and his former wife, Cynthia Gray.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Eileen M. Rhody and husband, Andrew J., Schuylkill Haven, and Debra Schiavoni, Lancaster; a brother, Gregory Gray and wife, Elizabeth, Pottsville; eight nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Monsignor Edward Zemanik officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday in the church's chapel. Interment will immediately follow Mass at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
