The Life of Wilmer P Riegel Jr.


Wilmer P. Riegel Jr., 77, of Pottsville, passed away Sunday after a short stay at ManorCare Nursing Home.

Born in Pottsville, Feb. 2, 1941, he was a son of the late Wilmer and Catherine Riegel.

Wilmer worked as a mechanic throughout his life at Fanelli's Trucking Co.

He was a lifetime member of the East End Fire Company and Citizen's Fire Company, both in Palo Alto. He was also a member of Pep's Pool Team in Port Carbon.

Wilmer enjoyed attending Grace Reformed Church, Troxelville, while on his camping trips in Selinsgrove.

In addition to his parents, Wilmer was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly, who passed away in 2007.

Wilmer is survived by his wife, Margaret, Pottsville; his children, Cheryl Mozloom, Wilkes-Barre, Jeffrey Riegel Sr., husband to Phyllis, Saint Clair, Dave Riegel, lifelong partner of Diane, Saint Clair, Candy Frantz, wife of Bill, Pottsville, and Alicia Logan, New Jersey; his stepsons, Charles Frederick Jr., husband of Ann, Cressona, Randy Frederick, husband of Lesa, Schuylkill Haven, and Ron Frederick, husband of Tracy, Auburn. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; an aunt, Shirley Riegel, Reedsville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grabowski Funeral Home, off Route 61 in Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Lawrence Doughan officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
