The Life of Dorothy J Martyn

Dorothy J. "Dot" Martyn, 83, of Broomall, PA, died May 4, 2018 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. 

Born and raised in Havertown, she was a graduate of Haverford High School. Dot had been employed as an Administrative Assistant by the Murray Eight Insurance Agency in West Chester before retiring. A resident of Broomall for the past 50 years, she enjoyed traveling and served as a Girl Scout volunteer as a leader and camper.

A longtime member of the Manoa Community Church, Dot served as a Trustee, Deacon, on the Missionary Committee and as Ambassador to the Sunday School Class. Dot's greatest gift was to instinctively offer help when and where it was needed.

As an unlikely cancer survivor, she was willing to lend support in all forms to others battling the disease.

Daughter of the late David and Martha Martyn, survivors include her sisters, Shirley (Don) Hagan and Pat (Tom) Carson; nieces, Cheryl Lewine, Kristie Jennings, Laurie Hill, nephews, Jeff Hagan, Bruce Hagan, Doug Carson, Glenn Carson; grandnieces, grandnephews and her friend and neighbor, Diane Evans

Service: Funeral Service will be 11 am Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Manoa Community Church, 153 N. Eagle Rd., Havertown Pa

Visitation:  10 to 10:45 Thursday at the Manoa Community Church

Interment: Arlington Cemetery 

Contributions: in her memory to the Church would be preferred
