The Life of Mary L. Geist

Mary L. (Weidner) Geist, 83, formerly of Richmond Township, and Kutztown, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 , in Manor Care, Laureldale, where she was a patient for two weeks. She was the widow of Robert M. Geist, who died January 2, 2016.  Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late Warren E. and Roma A. (Derr) Weidner. She was a member of St. Paul's UCC Church, Kutztown, where she sang on the choir for many years and was an Elder, Deacon and past member of consistory.  She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for various businesses in the area.  She also was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax preparer for many years.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Manette L. (Geist) wife of D. Keith Boyer, Hamburg; sons, David W., husband of Catherine (Callahan) Geist, Annville, Lebanon County, Steven R. Geist, Fleetwood; sister, Janet (Weidner)  widow of Richard H. Luckenbill, Blandon.  There are also four granddaughters, Danette (Boyer) Seidel, Laura K. and Katelyn Boyer, and Captain Brett M. (Boyer) Rocha, U.S. Army, Fort Drum, NY. There are also seven great grandchildren, twins Cora and Lucy Seidel, Owen Seidel and Ava Boyer, Taynara and Sofia Rocha, and Blake Boyer. In addition to her husband Robert and her parents, Mary was predeceased by a sister, Arlene (Weidner) McDonough and brothers, Calvin, Warren and John Weidner.

Memorial services will be Friday, May 11, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. from St. Paul's UCC Church, 47 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Sharon S. Morris, officiating.  Private inurnment in  Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.  Friends may call FRIDAY from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the church. 

The family requests contributions be made in Mary's memory to  Saint Paul's U. C. C. Church Memorial Fund, 47 S. Whiteoak Street, Kutztown.

Mary was a treasured person!  She was treasured by her family, by her friends, by the members of her church, and by the members of her community!  Mary was smart, kind, and generous.  May she rest in peace for eternity!  Thanks for your friendship--with love, Lisa
