The Life of Helen E Verdier


Helen E. Verdier, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Wednesday evening at her home in the arms of her daughter, Christine, surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born in York, June 30, 1942, a daughter of the late Harry Loucks and Bettie Heisey Klunk.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Dean "Dino" Verdier, in 2005, and her daughter, Melissa "Missy" Tobin, in 1997. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Smith Huff. 

She is survived by three daughters, Victoria, wife of Ray Gradwell, Pottsville, Catherine, New Philadelphia, and Christine, MaryD; two sons, Dean "Dino" Verdier Jr., Middleport, and Scott "Hunky" Verdier, New Philadelphia. Also surviving her are seven grandchildren, Lisa Bensinger, Alicia, Holly, Shawn and Patrick Tobin, Brianne Verdier and Kelsey Swenson; six great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jason Bensinger, Blaine Fritz, Cade and Easton Schultz and Wyatt Dean Close. 

Funeral service and interment will be private at Schuylkill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you join Helen as a Partner in Hope with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for $19 by sending contributions in Helen's name to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Jane Clifford Ritz Funeral Home, Franklin R. Fetter, funeral director, Mahanoy City, has charge of the arrangements.
