The Life of Anna Marie Kimmel


Anna Marie Wychunas Kimmel, 89, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday at Orwigsburg Center where she had been a resident. 

Born in Shenandoah, Oct. 9, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Pawalkis Wychunas.

She was the widow of William J. Kimmel, who passed away Sept. 22, 1993.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen, Albert, Leonard, Joseph, John and Vincent Wychunas and Maryann Baxter.

Anna retired from Hamburg Center in March 1989 after working as a nurse's aide.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. 

Anna also belonged to Pine Grove Senior Citizens, Shenandoah Senior Citizens and Roedersville Gun Club. 

She is survived by brother, Charles Wychunas; two stepchildren, Ruthann Lehman and Keith Kimmel, both of Pine Grove; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and seven godchildren.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona. A Catholic prayer service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Monsignor Edward S. Zemanik officiating. An additional time for viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow Mass in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family requests donations in Anna's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
