The Life of William Albert Schuchmann
William “Bill” A. Schuchmann, a 77 year old lifelong Ansonia resident and husband to Jean E. McCarthy Schuchmann, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly March 12. He was born Oct. 29, 1940 in Derby, son of the late William & Elsie Stettbacher Schuchmann. He graduated from Ansonia High School, Class of 1957. He was a parishioner of The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia and was a past chairman of Ansonia’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Bill was a florist, and owner & proprietor of Eastside Greenhouses in Ansonia. He was predeceased by his sister Ruth Hessler. In addition to his wife Jean, he leaves to cherish his memory his 3 sons, William Schuchmann Jr. of Bethany, Michael Schuchmann (Sandi) of Oxford & David Schuchmann of Ansonia, his brother John Schuchmann of Bethany, his sister Barbara Petruzzello of North Haven, his brother-in-law Michael McCarthy of Virginia and his grandchildren Brittney, David, Aimee, Megan, Billy, Tori, Mike and Kurt. Bill was also survived by his special great granddaughter Aaliyah. Friends may call on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
