The Life of Lottie A. Berger

Lottie A. (Derr) Berger, 87, of Greenwich Township, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Earl A. Berger, who died on March 10, 1991. Born in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, Lottie was a daughter of the late Paul J. and Sadie S. (Smith) Derr. She was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation at Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Kutztown Sportswear for 30 years, retiring in 1986. Lottie was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family.

Lottie is survived by a son, Richard E., husband of Priscilla Berger, Kutztown; granddaughter, Jamie S. (Berger), wife of Steve James, Orwigsburg, four great-grandchildren, Kayli, Sharon, Samantha and Seth; and six great-great grandchildren. Lottie is also survived by her siblings, Esther Seidel, Lenhartsville, Goldie Berger, Kutztown, and Harold Derr, Lenhartsville. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, sister, Helen Krick, and brothers, Willard Derr and George Derr.

A funeral service to celebrate Lottie's life will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Jeffrey P. Kistler officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown (Greenwich Township). Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
