The Life of JACQUELINE MARIE SIMS
Jacqueline Marie Sims, 56 of Urbandale, IA passed away at her home on January 30th, 2018.
Jackie was born in Des Moines, IA to James and Barbara Lockard. She graduated from Johnston High School in 1980. Jackie worked many years as a Teacher’s Aide in the Johnston School District. She had worked briefly as a CNA and most recently at Quality Inn.
Jackie’s daughters meant the world to her. She cherished family above all else and daily phone calls to connect with them was her passion. Jackie’s interests were rounded out by the Iowa Hawkeyes and KC Chiefs.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Terry Sims, daughters, Whitney (Jacob) Pike, Taylor (Colten) Moore, father, James Lockard, brothers, Brett (Mary) Lockard, John Lockard, sister, Pam (Charlie) Norelius, step sister, Hilleary (John Rong) Lockard, grandchildren, Adrienne and Lucas Pike, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceeded in her death by her mother, Barbara Dowd, step father, Jack Dowd, step mother, Marcia Lockard and grandson, Jackson Pike.
The family will receive friends from 1-4pm on Sunday, February 4th at Westover Chapel in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will also be held at Westover at 10:30AM on Monday, February 5th, 2018.
Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.
Memorials: Oakridge Neighborhood Youth Program or to the family.
