The Life of Malena Sarrafian
Malena Sarrafian, 89, of Glen Mills formerly of Havertown, died Jan 4, 2018 at Maris Grove. Born and raised in Dearborn, MI, she was a graduate of Fordson High School. She was a resident of Glen Mills for the past 11 years. Malena was a member of St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church and had been a member of Parish Council and a Sunday School teacher. She also enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her loving family.
She was pre-deceased by her son David, and her husband of 67 years Steve. Survivors include her sons, Stephan (Karen) Sarrafian, Michael (Kris) Sarrafian, Robert (Sue) Sarrafian, and 4 grandchildren. Also her favorite niece Janis Dennis, who was like a daughter to her.
Visitation and interment will be private.

Second mother
I had the pleasure of working with Malena for many years at RHD and she was like a second mother to me. She and Steve were at my wedding, and baby shower along with many other social functions. I visited her in October and we had a great time reminiscing and working on her jigsaw puzzle together. I had hoped to visit her again soon and am selfishly saddened by her passing. I take pleasure knowing that she still had the painting of the butterfly that I did for her many years ago. She spoke about her extended family and how much she enjoyed her time with everyone. May your memories bring you comfort as they do me at this difficult time. I am so sorry I did not get back to visit her again.
