The Life of Mary Ellen Blackwell
Mary Ellen Blackwell, 68, of Hamburg, passed away Friday at Laurel Nursing Home, Hamburg.
Mary was born in Baltimore, Md., Aug. 4, 1949, a daughter of the late Robert and Sally Bergan Dewald.
She was the widow of Robert Blackwell.
Mary Ellen was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School and then attended the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing.
She attended Mountain Side Bible Church, Palo Alto, and was formerly employed as an LPN by Pottsville Hospital.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Dewald.
Mary Ellen is survived by a son, Ernie, husband of Joanne, Ephrata; a daughter, Linda Winders, wife of Ted, Dubuque, Iowa; grandchildren, Cameron, Noah and Ryan Carey and Zander and Aiden Winders; a brother, Daniel Dewald, Coal Township.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Ge-schwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor David Wing officiating. A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
