The Life of Fern E Roeder

Fern E. Roeder, 89, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven. 

Born in Pottsville, July 23, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John Sr. and Marion Heffner Dietrich.

She was the widow of John L. Roeder Sr., who passed away in 2004.

Fern was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1946, and retired from the former American Argo in 1983.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Bruen and Nancy Kline; brother, John Dietrich Jr.; grandson, John L. Roeder III.

Fern is survived by two daughters, Linda Moore and Marion Smith, both of Schuylkill Haven; two sons, John L. Roeder Jr., Schuylkill Haven, and William Roeder, Schnecksville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Richard Dietrich, Shillington.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
