The Life of Vahan Sahagian

Vahan Sahagian, 89, longtime resident of Lansdowne died November 17, 2017 at home .

Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a graduate of Frankford HS where he had played football. Vahan had been employed as a Technician for JF Martin, Inc a welding supply company for almost 50 years, retiring only 3 years ago.

Vahan enjoyed the casinos in Atlantic City, traveling to Ocean City in autumn and was an avid sports fan. He was a fisherman and enjoyed boating. Mr. Sahagian served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Korean War. He loved to tell stories of his football and Army days. A loving husband, dad and pop-pop, he will best be remembered in that way, kind and generous to his family.

Survivors: include his wife of 60 years, Viola (nee Carr) Sahagian; son Vahan (Joanne) Sahagian, daughter, Joyce Ford, grandaughter, Samantha (Matt) Santoleri and great-grandson Joseph Santoleri

Service: Funeral Service will be 11AM Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington

Visitation: Tuesday, November 21, 2017, 10:00 am

Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA

Couldnt have asked for more

Vahan was hands down the best grandfather. He was kind, gentle, loving and most of all taught me as a young woman, i deserved to be loved, respected, and valued. I would not be the woman I am today without his guidance and lifelong support. You will forever be missed poppop.
