The Life of William Hardy Kenny Sr.
Funeral
services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017, at a 1:00 P.M. Mass
of Christian Burial in St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Catholic Church,
for William H. Kenny Sr., 89, who died on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at
Signature Healthcare of Nashville.
Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette.
Reverend Thomas P. Voorhies, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ Catholic Church in Ville Platte, Louisiana, will be Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include his children: Erin Kenny Keaty of Nashville, TN; William “Bill” H. Kenny, Jr., and wife Debbie of Nashville, TN; Michael David Kenny of Lafayette, LA and Kathleen Kenny Labbe and husband Sid of Kingwood, TX; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; one sister, Madge Kenny Dawson; and two brothers, Patrick Henry Kenny and Kuhlman Kenny and his wife, Midge.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jo Ann Penny Kenny; his parents, Patrick Henry Kenny and Marjorie Louise Kuhlman Kenny; and one sister, Marjorie Kenny Anderson.
Born on November 18,1927 in Morgan City, LA, Mr. Kenny was a resident of Lafayette, LA for 40 years and Nashville, TN for the past 5 years. He was a member of the United States Army, and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Mr. Kenny worked in the oil service industry his entire adult life and was a member of The Petroleum Club for 40 years. The Men’s Grille was his favorite place for lunch with friends. He was an avid hunter, a great cook and loved to play cards with friends and family.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Ministry to the Sick and Homebound, St. Henry Church, 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205 or Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
