The Life of Virginia A. Canavan

Virginia A. (McGrane) Canavan of Bloomfield, Conn., formerly of Cinnaminson, N.J., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017. She was 95. Born in Queens, N.Y., she was a longtime resident of Cinnaminson. Virginia loved spending time with her family, traveling, playing bridge, and above all cherished her grandchildren. A loving mother and grandmother, she leaves behind five children, Thomas Canavan (Jill) of Albany, N.Y., Mary Marsan of Newington, Conn., Michael Canavan of Audubon, N.J., Darrell Davis of College Station, Texas, Jean Canavan-Hood (Phil) of Winchester, Va., and Susan Swansen (Russ) of Vernon Hills, Ill., and 13 grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, brother and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Canavan; her daughter, Margaret Davis; and her son-in-law, Joe Marsan. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at the Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center, 303 Tunxis Rd., West Hartford, Conn. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, N.J.
