The Life of Helen Marie Pingleton

Helen Marrie Pingleton, 82, passed away Sept. 24, 2017 at Pinnacle Ridge Nursing Home in Olathe. Funeral 11:00 am Fri., Sept. 29, 2017 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Burial follows at Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. Helen was born Aug. 28, 1935 in Alton, MO to Ezra and Blanche (Cockman) Johnson. She grew up in Alton, MO and moved to Gardner twelve years ago to be near family. Helen married Elmer L. Pingleton on Aug. 2, 1952 in Alton, MO. She was a homemaker and co-owner of H & E Locksmith and Ceramics. Helen was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Alton. She loved to tell stories, crochet and make quilts. She volunteered at the Alton Senior Citizen Center. Helen loved camping with her family and was always there when they needed her. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer, June 12, 2017; sister, Wilma Russell; granddaughter, Jennifer Arterburn; and great-grandson, Jeremy Beard. Helen is survived by daughters: Deborah (Terry) Gross, Olathe, KS and Robin (Mark) Enke, Gardner, KS; sons: Terry (Lorie) Pingleton, Cameron, MO and Timothy Pingleton, Olathe, KS; sister, Linda Davis, West Plains, MO; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
