The Life of MARTHA JANE PETTY

Martha Jane Petty, 82, left her earthly home to join her twin sister in her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Westkirk Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Martha Jane was born on June 16, 1935, in Des Moines, the daughter of John and Catherine Petty. She graduated from North High School. She worked at Broadlawns Medical Center as an admitting clerk for 45 years. Martha Jane was a member of Rainbow Masonic Order at Highland Park Auburn Lodge. Martha Jane lived at the Village at Legacy Pointe.

Martha Jane is survived by her sister, Janet (John) Fletcher, seven nephews and their families and her companion cat, Tiger. She will be greatly missed by those that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Joan (Charles) Forst and twin sister, Mary Jean Petty.
