The Life of GARRETT RICHMOND LEAR
Garrett R. Lear, 22, of Des Moines passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Wednesday at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Garrett was born on March 10, 1995 to Gaylen and Melinda Lear in Des Moines.
He graduated from East High School in 2013 and went on to study welding at DMACC.
Garrett loved sports! He played baseball, football, basketball, frisbee golf and softball. He loved animals, our pets (Dogs) Oscar, Colby, Lydia and Elliott; (Cats) Stripes, Angel, Leo and Ramona as well as many smaller pets.
He was cheerful and could always make people smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Garrett had worked at O’Reily’s Auto Parts, Kurtz Hardware and was employed by Anheuser Busch Budweiser.
Survivors include his mother, Melinda Lear (James Adams); sister Stacy Lear; brother Gordon Lear; grandmother, LaVelle Jackson; uncle, Mike Jackson; two aunts, Debbie Jackson and Kelly (Dudley) Phipps and other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaylen Lear; and grandparents, Robert Jackson, Arlene Lear and Gaylen Lear, Sr.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grandview Little League.
