The Life of William L. Regan Jr.

William L. "Billy" Regan, Jr., 66, of Springfield, PA died May 29, 2017 at home after a long illness.

Born in Darby and raised in Drexel Hill, Billy attended Msgr. Bonner High School, class of ’69, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Temple University. Billy was a Systems Architect at Verizon for 31 years before retiring.

A life-long Rolling Stones fan, Billy followed the band to over 100 concerts around the world. He was a voracious reader, enjoyed Science Fiction, and was keenly interested in all of the sciences. He was an admirer of Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan and Neil deGrasse Tyson, and collected their works. Billy was in wonder of the universe and all of its mystery.

Billy especially enjoyed time with his family at the beach in Ocean City, NJ and Ocean City, MD. He was a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan of the Phillies and the Eagles. He followed Formula One racing and NASCAR, and was skilled in car repair and could fix anything.A good-hearted, kind and highly intelligent man, Billy had a great sense of humor.

He was devoted to his family, especially his cherished grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Marilou (née McNulty); children, Keith Regan, Brian (Anna Calabrese) Regan and Beth Regan; grandchildren, Natalie, Ruby and David. He was brother to Mary, Kathleen, Margaret, Anne Marie, Eileen, Michael, Paul and James Regan.

Billy was the son of the late Mary (nee Howe) and William Regan.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill 19026, with visitation beginning at 10 AM.
