The Life of Philip M. Brown

Philip Martin Brown, 60, of Redding, CT, passed away after a brief illness, March 24, 2011 in Norwalk Hospital.

Philip was born September 15, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA. and has been a resident of Redding for the past seven years. He is a former teacher in Glastonbury and school administrator in Southbury, in North Haven, in Eastchester, NY, and in Cos Cob.

Philip is a 1972 graduate of the University of Maryland and received his master's degree from the University of Hartford. He also did post graduate work toward his PhD at the University of Connecticut. Mr. Brown is a member of the National Association of Elementary School Principals and a former member of ASCD, an Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

He was a collector of antiques and an amateur artist. He was loved by his family, his former colleagues, his former staff members and his students.

Survivors include his life partner, Rex Jones of Redding, CT, two sons, Christopher S. Brown and his wife Jennifer of Middletown, CT, Adam K. Brown and his wife Tiffany of Bronx, NY, his mother, Lena I. Aleksandrowicz of Sandwich, MA, his sister, Carol Miller of Pensacola, FL., and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service this Saturday, April 16th at 4 p.m. in the Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Avenue, Southport, CT.
