The Life of WILLIAM JAMES HAGMAN
William (Bill) James Hagman, 56, peacefully passed away in his sleep on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Billy, as his friends called him, was born on July 2, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a lifetime resident of Des Moines except for two years as a first and second grader when he and his family lived in Hartley, Iowa. He was a graduate of North High School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1978. After graduating, Bill began a lifetime career as a painter.
He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Hagman of Indianapolis, Indiana, brother, Tom Hagman (Nelva) of Des Moines, niece, Sarah Richards (Jason) of Urbandale and their children, Adelyn, Everly and Colwyn. He is also survived by his uncle, Jim Jacobe (Linda), aunt Beth Roush, five first paternal cousins and eight first maternal cousins and many second cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Carol Hagman; grandparents, Ed and Agnus Hagman and Ed and Mildred Jacobe; aunts and uncles, Ed and Joann Hagman, Dean and Loretta Jacobe, David Roush, and cousins Eddie Joe Hagman and Michael Jacobe.
Memorial services for Bill will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Capitol City Church, 5990 NE 14th St., in Des Moines. A luncheon for all family and friends will immediately follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in loving memory of Bill.
