The Life of NEDRA JUNE PATTON
Nedra Patton was born on October 3, 1924 in Thayer, Iowa, to James Lee and Bina Downey. There are no siblings. She and her parents moved to Des Moines from Creston at the age of 5 and attended all school grades from elementary, junior high, and high school and graduated from East High School in 1942. She worked at Bankers Trust Company from 1967 and retired in 1995. She was a member of East Gate Order of the Eastern Star since she was 21 and served several offices including four times as Worthy Matron. She was married to Albert R. Patton for 33 years and he passed away in 2000.
She is survived by her one daughter, Karen (Ray) Warren; adopted daughter, Theresa Kidd; two granddaughters, Lori Ann Brown and Marsha (Chris) Lynn Belcher; five great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Jacob, and Nicholas Belcher, and Haleigh Brown, and Dakota (Cody) Brown; step-daughter, Barbara, (Michael) Mulcahy of North Barrington, IL. Both of her parents; and her husband, Albert R. Patton have preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Simpson United Methodist Church, 2600 Capital Avenue in Des Moines, followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
