The Life of DAVID JUNIOR SCOTT
David Scott passed away January 13, 2011, at Bright Kavanagh House. David was born April 14, 1930, in Newton, Iowa. The son of David and Mabel (McCuen) Scott, David was married to Marjorie J. Stokes for 63 years.
David retired from being an over- the- road truck driver of 30 years. In retirement, David enjoyed spending time with his large family, reading and watching NASCAR races.
He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie; children Sandra Scott, Shonna (Ralph) Jackson, Stephanie (Charles) Shull, Sharon (Mark) Carper, Shelly (Gary) Ross, David (Shannon) Scott, Kim Ver Steegh, and Jeff Scott; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; sister Shirley (Boyd) Nordmark; and two nieces. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bright Kavanagh House for their excellent care and compassion.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.
