The Life of William Brown

William “Bill” F. Brown, age 82, a longtime Valley resident also of Leesburg, FL., passed away July 1 2016. He was born March 27, 1934 in New Haven. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy and former Civil Defense member. As a young man he worked as a mechanic and then as an electrician for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. Bill was an avid car enthusiast and member of the Roaring ‘20’s Car Club, a HAM radio enthusiast(W1EGL), and a member of The Valley Heart Club. He is survived by his three children Diane Appicelli of Ansonia, Wendy Brown Mignosa of Hamden & Bill Brown of Torrington, as well as fiancé Arlene Hughes of Leesburg, Fl. He also leaves 3 grandchildren Robert, Isabella & Gabriella Mignosa and will be remembered as beloved “Willard” by Karlene, Katie, Libby, Kimberly, and Mitchell. He was predeceased by his wife Susan Brown and four sisters Rose, Alice, Dorothy & Madeline. Friends may call on Friday, July 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT.
