The Life of Dorothy Moraniec Ireland

Dorothy Ireland, age 64, wife of David Ireland and resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest May 13. She was born March 28, 1952 in Derby, daughter of the late Louis & Anna Hajduk Moraniec. She was a graduate of The Assumption School in Ansonia and Ansonia High School, Class of 1970. She was a parishioner of The Church of the Assumption and worked in customer service for Haynes Materials in Seymour. Dorothy was proud to be a Lucky Dawg and along with her husband David attended 27 consecutive Rhythm & Roots music festivals at Ninegret Park, R.I. Dorothy also enjoyed crafting and often designed her own hats for special occasions. In addition to her husband David, she leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Sara Ireland of Brooklyn, N.Y., sisters Eileen Chewlinski of Litchfield & Ann Figoras & husband Bob of Durham, brothers Michael Moraniec & wife Louise of Beacon Falls, Robert Moraniec & wife Lorrie and Louis Moraniec & wife Linda, all of Prospect, sister­in­law Lee Schroeter of Ansonia and several nieces & nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
