The Life of NANCY R CAIRNS
Nancy Cairns, 83, passed peacefully Friday, May 13, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston surrounded by her family. She was born to Emery and Velna Cosner on October 30, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa. Nancy graduated from East High School in 1951, and worked in customer service at CDS. She is a member of the First Church of Nazarene and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Cairns; children, Pamela K. Cairns and Mark E. (Teresa) Cairns; grandchildren, Alicia and Jason; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Braden, Ashland, Bryce, Carter, and Derrick; siblings, Gordon Cosner and Sue Ann Downing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and 12 brothers and sisters.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Hamilton’s Near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18th also, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hope Ministries in loving memory of Nancy.
