The Life of CHARLES EDWARD SEARCY

Charles E. Searcy, 74, married to Vicki (Wilson), went peacefully to be with the Lord after a short illness, on May 8, 2016. Chuck was born, Nov. 17, 1941, to Maxine and Charles Searcy, in Des Moines, IA.

Chuck served in the Army from April 1967 – April 1970, and is a Vietnam Vet. He worked as an Audio Visual repairman while his children were growing up, and later worked as a wireman for twenty years at Keystone Manufacturing before his retirement.

Chuck enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He would take friends and his family target shooting, in his younger years. He enjoyed going to his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, friends and family. Chuck was always willing to lend a helping hand, and could fix anything. Chuck always liked to crack a joke. His humor and helpfulness will be missed.

Among those left to honor Chuck’s life are his wife of 52 years, Vicki; brother, Luckey; sister-in-law, Valerie Wilson; daughter, Michelle (Anthony Hamlin); son, Bryan and five grandchildren - Kelsie, Rachel, Eli, Natalie and Lillie, as well as ten nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, on Wednesday evening, May 11th from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 12th, at First Assembly of God, 2725 Merle Hay Road, at 11am with a luncheon to follow. Interment will follow luncheon at Highland Memory Gardens, One NE 60th Ave., Des Moines, IA.
