The Life of MICHAEL JAMES GUIZZETTI

Michael Guizzetti, 58, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Michael was born June 22, 1957 to Jim and Mary Guizzetti in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in (city) and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Michael worked for Local 177 Union Laborers starting at the age of 17 and retiring in 2012.

Michael enjoyed listening to blues music, finding the best craft beers and mushroom hunting. He was a true Democrat through and through, winning every political debate he was engaged in. Michael’s greatest career accomplishment was working on the State of Iowa Capitol Building. Above all else, the love he had for his grandchildren will never be forgotten.

Michael is survived by his daughter Jennifer Sauvaine; grandchildren, Alex and Makayla; siblings, Sandra Parisho, Susanne Rieger and Gary (Julie) Parisho; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2016 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

I met Mike in 1969. We became instant friends and went through school together and remained friends. Mike was always a happy, cheerful, carefree, positive guy who was always open to try something new and he would go anywhere and have fun getting there. I really can't say enough for this good man. He was always was a loyal friend and I will always remember him.
