The Life of RICHARD ARNOLD GRAFTON
Richard A. Grafton, 75, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Taylor House in Des Moines. Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, of which he was a life-long member. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Richard was born December 5, 1940, in Des Moines to Austin and Mary (Lenan) Grafton. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 46 years of service.
Richard is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara, his children, Rodney Grafton and Ronald Grafton, both of Des Moines and Rhonda Furman of Ankeny; two bonus sons, Mark (Catherine) Grimm of Des Moines, Osborn (Angel) Grimm of Grimes; bonus daughter, Carole (Nancy) Grimm-Morris of Des Moines; sister, Sharon (Terry) Stewart of Urbandale, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Theresa Stewart.
