The Life of KENNETH OTTO SAGE

Kenneth O. Sage, 84, passed away at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, IA on January 26, 2016. He was born in Missouri Valley, IA on April 6, 1931, the son of Otto LaRue and Mary Elizabeth Wailes Sage.

Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Korea during the Korean War. He retired as a salesman from Inland Truck Parts and then worked part-time as a driver for Enterprise. In his spare time, you could find Kenneth tinkering around outside.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marcella; children, Marsha (Paul) Lynch and Roger (Joan) Sage; grandchildren, Melissa (Luke) Shelton, Rachel Lee, Chad (Amanda) Lynch, and Michael (Jillian) Lynch; great-grandchildren, Sabina, Henry, Owen, Jaedyn, Ava, and Ellie; brothers, Keith (Ann) Sage and Dwight (Brenda) Sage; sister, Alice Duff; as well as a host of other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dwayne Sage.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
