The Life of Laura Williams Tucker


Laura Tucker, an 88 year old Ansonia resident and wife of the late Percy Tucker, peacefully departed this life on January 10, 2016. She fought a good fight and kept the faith. She was born March 17, 1927 in Charlotte, N.C., daughter of the late John & Angeline Evans Williams. She worked as housekeeping supervisor at Hewitt Memorial Hospital in Shelton and was a 55 year member of Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother of 4 generations. She loved to study the word of God and was active in many church activities, until being limited by declining health. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Barbara Lancaster & Sadie Smith, brother Sydney Jerome Williams, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren & great great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 children, Carroll Wayne, John Wesely & Furman, sisters Amanda, Ella Mae, Mamie & Annie, & 2 grandsons. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 10:00 a.m. from The Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
