Obituary
Rev.J. M. McKitrlck a minister of the United Presbyterian church, died at his home in Olathe Kansas. Aged 51 years, 9 months and 20 days.
The deceased was born near Antrim Gurnsey county Ohio. Publicly professed faith in Christ at the age of 15 years. He inlisted in the O. V. I. Co H. in 1865. He was educated at Mrs. Kingham's College, New Concord, Ohio, Franklin college at New Athens Ohio and a Seminary course at Henia Ohio.
He was licensed d to preach by the Presbytery of Bloomfield Indiana, in 1870. He began pastorate labor in Greenwood Mo. in 1870.
He was called to a pastorate in Southern Illinois where he was married to Miss Nannie J. McClay, Oct. 15th 1874. He preached the Gospel of Christ faithfully 22 years. Six months ago became home to rest, and quetly and peacfully entered "the rest" that remains for the people of God. He leaves an aged mother, two brothers, a wife, four sons and one daughter, to the care of their heavenly Father. A loving husband and Indulgent father has gone "Where the weary are at rest." ''Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord."
Mr. McKitrick held four pastorates, in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Kansas.
