Obituary.

Benjamin Reeder was born in Columbia County, Ohio, February 12th, 1830, and departed this life at his .home in Olathe, Kansas, June 12, 1914,at the age of 84 years and 4 months.

He was united in united in marriage with Grace Hickman at the age of 22, and to this union three children were born, one of whom survives, Mrs. Mary Hughes of Morse, Kansas.

After the death of hjs first wife he moved to Iowa in 1860 where he was united in marriage with his surviving wife. To this union five children were born. Two of whom died in infancy, and the other three reside in Johnson county: Mrs. W.S. Meek, and Mrs. F.M. Powell of Bucyrus, Kansas and Mrs. E.A. Ames of Olathe, Kansas.

He was one of eight brothers and sisters all of whom have passed on except for one brother who lives in Pennsylvannia. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren

He was reared in the faith of the Faith church and followed their teachings throughout his life.

The funeral services were held from the, family home on East Park street Sunday at 2:30 p. m. conducted by Rev. C. B. Zook. The service was abbreviated on account of the illness of Mrs. Maude Ames the youngest daughter, who recently underwent a serious surgical operation. The family have the sympathy of their many friends and neighbors.
