The Life of Ida May Wood

Mrs. M. H. Wood.

Ida May See was born October 20, 1874, and was married to M. H. Wood May 20, 1896, at Memphis, Missouri. She died at her home in Fort Scott on Saturday, April 19, 1913 at 7:30 p. m. at the age of 38 years and 6 months.

Mr. and Mrs. Wood formerly lived here, but left about five years ago. Mr. Wood is a son of Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Wood of our city. The remains were brought to Olathe Monday morning and taken to the home of S. T. Wood. Funeral services were conducted bv Rev. Zook at the Methodist church this (Wednesday) morning at ten o'clock. Burial in Olathe cemetery

A husband, four daughters, one son, three sisters and three brothers survive. Mr. Wood took his wife to California last fall in hopes that that climate would benefit her, but she grew steadily worse. None but those who have sat in the shadow of a great bereavement can justly weigh such a sorrow as this. Those who have gone down into the valley of suffering and stood for months by the side of a loved one, as hope after hope dropped away as the petals fall from a fading flower, know that such anguish cannot find solace in the tenderest words. The many friends of the Wood family sympathize with them in their sorrow.
