The people of Johnson county in general, and of Olathe in particular, were shocked last Friday by the announcement of the death of J. L. Wiswell, of the firm of Elder & Wiswell. The funeral was conducted from the family residence on Water street Sunday at 2 p. m., Rev. Edwin McNutt of the Presbyterian church of this city, assisted by Rev. W. H. Merrill of Wellsville, officiating. The funeral arrangements were in charge of the Masonic fraternity, and that organization together with the M. W. A. escorted the funeral car and long line of sorrowing relatives and friends to the cemetery where the Masonic ritualistic services were held and interment made.
