The Life of Sarah Elma Wallick

MRS. SARAH WALLICK DEAD.

Mrs. Sarah Wallick, aged 69 years, died Saturday morning, July 20, at 8 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. H., Sinnett, in Cherryvale, after a short illness of acute stomach trouble. Funeral services were held from the home in Cherryvale on Tuesday morning, July 23, at 10 o'clock. Conducted by the Reverend Cooms, pastor of the Presbyterian church.  The body was brought to Olathe, arriving here at 5 o'clock Tuesday evening and, after a short funeral service conducted at the grave by Rev. A. M.  Buchanan, was laid to rest by the side of her husband, Mr. D. H. Wallick, who died here nearly three years ago.

Mrs. Wallick had been making her home with her daughter for several months. She returned to Olathe on May 21 to look after property interests and attend to some business matters and remained here until two weeks ago, when she returned to Cherryvale in very poor health. Her illness was not considered serious, however, until the Wednesday before her death.

Mrs. Wallick was born in Millersburg, Ohio, on April 12, 1843. She was married to David H. Wallick on April 10, 1862, and came to Kansas in 1869. She united with the M. E. church when 16 years of age, but after her marriage she united with the Presbyterian church, that being the faith of her husband, and remained a member of this church until her death

She is survived by three children, all of whom were present at her funeral: Dr. D. L. Wallick of Provo, Utah; Mr. Frank Wallick of Fowler, Colorado; and Mrs. G. H. Sinnett of Cherryvale, Kansas. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Sinnett and son Carroll of Cherryvale; Dr. and Mrs. D. L. Wallick, of Brovo, Utah; Mr. Frank Wallick of Fowler, Colorado; Reverend Cooms, of Cherryvale; Mrs. Emma Fuller, of Trenton, Missouri; and Doctor Uhls, of Kansas City, Mo.
