Elizabeth MacDonald died at her home in Mission township on Saturday morning, March 3, at the age of seventy-three  years. She was united to the M. P. Methodist church at the age of sixteen and continued in that belief up to the time of her death. Deceased was born in York county, Pennsylvania, May 1, 1826, and on September 16, 1852, she was united in marriage to John R. Again in April, 1863, they moved to Platte county, Missouri, and located north of Parkville, where her husband died in 1857, leaving her with four small children to care for and being an invalid it was quite a task. In March 1883, they moved to Johnson county, Kansas, her home at the time of her death. She was of a quiet and gentle disposition. Four children, Annie E. Lowmiller of Amarillo, Texas, Jennie C. McClure of Kansas City, Mo., John K. MacDonald of New York City, and A. R. MacDonald of Mission township, survive her to mourn her loss. On Wednesday the remains were taken to Merriam and shipped to Olathe, and laid to rest in the family lot.
