Death of Mrs. Elizabeth R. Lowrey.

 Died, January 24, 1919, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Evans, 214 South Water street, Olathe, Kan., Mrs. Elizabeth R. Lowrey, a most lovable old lad

Elizabeth R. Matheny was born September 1, 1846, in Mercer county, Kentucky. Her father, F. G. Matheny, being one of the prosperous merchants of his time. She was educated at Miss Tevis’ school for girls at Shelbyville, Ky.

On October 27, 1870, she was married to James H. Lowrey, a native of Kentucky, but who at an early date, had come to Missouri and was a well-known farmer. He preceded her to the grave on December 27, 1905.

To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Irving Miller, of Richmond, Mo., who died September 15, 1895, and Mrs. George Evans, who survives her. She is survived also by a grand daughter, Mrs. Ludevick Graves of Kansas City, Mo., but who is now with her husband, Major Graves, at Alexandrie, Louisiana.

Very early in life Mrs. Lowrey professed her faith in Christ by uniting with the church of her parents, the Presbyterian church, and was a zealous worker for her Master until laid aside from labor by the infirmaties from which she died.

The services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Montieth of the United Presbyterian church, from the home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, January 26, 1919, and interment in the Olathe cemetery.
