The Life of David Lee King

David Lee King, 69, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015. He was born on October 22, 1945 in Monett, Missouri. His early years were spent in Arkansas. where he received the nickname "Ark". David graduated from Gardner-Edgerton High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam. He worked as an Air Traffic Controller part of "PATCO" union, partnered in B&D Plumbing and retired from the U.S. Ag Dept. in 2005. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with family and fishing.

David is preceded in death by his parents Julian and Dorothy (Cook) King. Survivors include his three sons: Troy King, Nick King and Shawn King and his wife Ashley all of Olathe, Kansas, three grandchildren, Tyler King and his wife Olivia, Kaitlyn King, Ashley King and great grandson Andrew King. David was married to Lois (Miller) King. He will be forever missed and remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to everyone he met.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 E. Loula St. Olathe, Kansas. Burial with Military Honors in Olathe Memorial Gardens 738 N. Chestnut Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
