The Life of Nathaniel McCoy

Death of Nathaniel McCoy.

The death of Nathaniel McCoy, who lived on his farm, two and one-half miles northwest of Olathe, occurred on Thursday, March 15. The funeral service was held on the following Saturday at Ryan''s chapel, and burial was made in our cemetery.

Mr. McCoy was born in Washington Washington county, Penn., October 14, 1844, on a farm where he lived until grown to manhood. In 1871 he married Miss Ellen Andrews who lived about twenty miles from his place. He had made a trip to Kansas in 1870, returned home to be married and came back to Kansas later and for sixteen years past has lived near Olathe.

His health had not been good for the past ten years, as he had been slugged and his skull fractured.

He is survived by his widow and one son, W. E., of Akron, Ohio. Mr. McCoy was quiet and unassuming, unassuming, and especially well liked by each one of his acquaintances.
