Estella Ingersoll

Estella Jane Hammond, eldest daughter of Charles Edward and Mary Bell Hammond, was born on a farm near Olathe, Kansas and passed away March 12, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran hospital in Kansas City, Mo., age 54 years, 5 months.

She grew to womanhood in Olathe and was educated in the Olathe schools. She joined the First Presbyterian church here March 23, 1899 of which her grandmother, Jane Bell, was a charter member. After going to Kansas City, Mo, she attended the Independence Blvd. Christian church as it was near her home.

Of late years she has been in the employ of the Columbia Pictures Corporation and was an attentive worker and endeared herself among the employees and those she came in contact with.

She is survive by one son, Charles Edward Hendrix of St. Louis, Mo., and two sisters, Vera C. Wright of Kansas City, Kansas; Fern L. House of Olathe; on niece, Mary Alleen Rapp of Kansas City, Kansas. Two nephews, Frank Lee House of Kansas City, Mo, and L. j. House of Olathe, Kansas.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 14, at 2:30 o'clock, in the Julien Chapel, conducted by Rev. H. H. Beers. Interment in the Olathe cemetery.
