The Life of Nancy Ruth Hendrickson

Obituary.

Died, at the family residence, corner of Lulu arid Cherry streets, Olathe, on Thursday, May 12, 1892, at 6 o''clock a. m., Mrs Nancy McKenzie Hendrickson. The funeral services  were held at the residence of Mr. and! Mrs. J. L. Pettyjohn at 1 o''clock p. m. Friday, May 23, conducted by Elder B. Q. Denham, of Kansas City, Kansas.

Mrs. Hendrickson was born on the 22d day of February, 1808, and "passed to the other side” as before stated, on Thursdav morning of last week. She united with the Christian church and  was baptized by Elder Fletcher Mavita in her 20th year, and has ever since, for 64 years, lived a consistent and practical Christian life, always striving to do good to all with whom she came in contact.

Mrs. Hendrickson was born at Cabin Creek in Lewis county, Kentucky, and was married to George Farris Hendrickson, who survives her, by Elder Hathaway of the Christian church on the 18th dav of April, 1833. The union was blessed with seven children, five sons and two daughters, the youngest being Mrs. Laura E. Pettyjohn, who resides in Olathe and has done much to brighten the declining days of her mother. All the children are still living except one son who died in the Union army during the late war, at Atlanta, Ga.

Mrs. Hendrickson lived for 26 years in Olathe before she passed away and had the good will and love of a large circle of friends who sincerely mourn her loss.
