The Life of Charity Elizabeth Freeman

MRS. "TOM" FREEMAN DEAD.

Mrs. Charity Elizabeth Freeman, widow of "Tom" Freeman, a Johnson county pioneer, died at her home in Lenexa on Saturday, November 23, after a lingering illness. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Lenexa on Monday morning, November 25, at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. A. Davies and the body was brought to Olathe and laid to rest in the beautiful Olathe cemetery by the side of her husband who died a score of years ago.

Mrs. Freeman was 68 years of age, having been born in Columbus, Ohio, April 2, 1844. She was married to Thomas Freeman in 1868 and shortly afterward came to Kansas, where she has since resided almost continuously. She was the mother of ten children and is survived by three of them: T. W. Freeman, Talala, Oklahoma, Mrs. A. C. Russell, Ness City, and Mrs. Edwin Honn, Lenexa, all of whom were with her at the time of her death. Mrs. Freeman was very widely known and one of the best loved women in the county.
