The Life of Sarah Jane Elston
Obituary.
Died at the family residence on South Cherry street, Wednesday, June 8, 1892, at 7:30 a. m., Mrs. Sarah Elston, aged 46 years, 10 months and 18 days.
Deceased was born in Perry county, Ohio, February 10, 1846, and came to Kansas in 1869, where she was married to Elias Elston in 1870. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her loss, and to these their many friends extend their sincere sympathy.
By the death of Mrs. Elston the husband has lost a true and faithful wife and the children a kind and loving mother. o words of their friends can alleviate their sorrow and they alone can realize the loss they have sustained. Mothers step is no more heard in their home, mother's voice no longer speaks to them in kindness and sympathy and they are inconsolable: but though mother has passed from her earthly home, 'twas but a crossing of the river to that home above her spirit passed; for, it has been said, "They that believe in me shall not persih but have everlasting life.'
Husband and children, think not of her as dead, but as gone before, only just on the opposite shore, there waiting and watching for you.
“ Dear friends think not of her as dead;
She has only gone before ;
Gone to prepare a place for you
On that celestial shore.
There in that land of peace and joy
She's happy and at rest.
Safe from all harm she sweetly sleeps
Upon her Savior's breast.”
