John R. Easdale died at his home in East Olathe of heart failure, very unexpectedly, on Monday night, November 26th. Mr. Easdale bad been ailing but a few days, and but few of even his most intimate friends knew that he was indisposed.
Mr. Easdale was only in in his 37th year, which made his unexpected death all the more surprising. The funeral services were held at the family residence yesterday at 2 o'clock p. m., conducted by Elder E. Pomeroy but under the auspices of Olathe Commandery, No. 39, Knights Templar, of which fraternity deceased was a member. The funeral cortege was one of the largest seen in Olathe for a long time, his many friends thus manifesting their regret and sorrow at his untimely demise. Mr. Easdale had been a conspicuous figure in Johnson county for many years, and had creditably served two terms as sheriff, retiring from that office only last year.
